Mount Pearl Condos

For the size of the city Mount Pearl has quite a few condo corporations to choose from. Townhouse condos are the dominant style. Mount Pearl Lifestyle

Looking for a community with a true family focus? Enjoy walking through woods and beside ponds? Does the idea of living in one of Canada’s best-run communities appeal to you? If so, a condo in Mount Pearl may be your dream come true!

Mount Pearl's Many Amenities and Features

The City of Mount Pearl is bigger in almost every way than many people realize. With a population of 24,000 it is virtually tied with Conception Bay South as the second-largest community in Newfoundland & Labrador. Mount Pearl borders St. John’s, yet has its own unique character. While some homes date as far back to the 1950s, many of the most popular developments such as Admiralty Wood, Pearlview West, and Powers Pond, to name just a few, are much newer. And condos in Mount Pearl are becoming increasingly popular!

Better Weather, Better Services and Lower Tax Rate

Residents of Mount Pearl often speak of the weather being significantly better than in St. John’s East or communities such as Torbay, and the city is also known for remarkable snow clearing and garbage collection. The City’s snow clearing abilities may not seem important to you at first if you plan on living in one of Mount Pearl’s multi-unit condominiums, since snow removal would likely be provided by the condo corporation. However, you’ll still need to get to and from your condo, and many people say the difference in road conditions is very noticeable once they enter Mount Pearl.

Mount Pearl is the place for sports and rec!

Perhaps the area where Mount Pearl has best made a name for itself is its many recreational programs for people of all ages. Families have been known to move to Mount Pearl solely for the youth programs that the City offers its citizens, covering everything from soccer, baseball, and hockey to basketball, swimming, rugby, gymnastics, and more. Plus, its four primary/elementary schools, two junior highs, and two high schools mean a school is within walking distance for many residents.

Topping off the city's sports focus is the 60,000 sq. ft. Pearlgate Recreation Multiplex  featuring a state-of-the-art aquatics complex (with an 8-lane competition swimming pool, a 2-lane lap pool, a kid’s pool with water slide, whirlpool/therapy pool, and lots more), a fitness centre with indoor walking track, and much more. The Multiplex is attached to the Reid Centre with its gymnasium and is next door to Glacier, which now features two ice surfaces. A baseball pitch and dog park are nearby, while numerous other soccer or baseball fields and playgrounds are spread throughout the city. Joining them all together is the extensive Grand Concourse, a 130-km walkway system that winds through virtually every neighbourhood in St. John’s, Mount Pearl, and Paradise!

Mount Pearl Businesses and Industrial Park

Perhaps the biggest surprise to anyone living outside the city is how Mount Pearl’s business and commercial communities have exploded in recent years. Indeed, the vibrant business sector may be one of the main reasons condominiums in Mount Pearl are becoming increasingly popular. There are approximately 1,000 businesses in the city, ranging from small home-based operations to sprawling warehouses and production facilities in Donovans Business Park. The shopping has enjoyed particularly strong growth, with new stores and eateries giving residents everything from charming boutiques to one of the largest WalMart stores in the province. And if you get hungry while shopping, you’ll find plenty of restaurants in Mount Pearl.
